Begin by locating the Clara Woods map and the Store Staff Notice. Use the CRTV at marked signal points to uncover hidden interactions — there are several throughout this section, each revealing crucial information.

Your primary objectives in this area involve collecting the Reciprocating Compressor (Part ID: 956) and assembling the Constructed Mechanical Device. You’ll also need to find the Disk Case Key and Grouped Floppy Disks, then use the “Fix-A-Disk!” software to restore damaged data. Key lockers include Locker 75 for the Flare Gun and a special Lock Box that can be opened with the Lock Box Key found near the Atlas Square Apartments.

Once you reach CEG HQ, the Tape Recorder puzzle becomes your main obstacle. You’ll need to play the Yesterday, Tomorrow, Today, and “Do Not Play” tapes in the correct sequence to derive the final code. After solving the puzzle and obtaining the Ammonite Disk, use it to find the code between 192 and 125 — the answer is 129. Input this into the Barcode system for Locker 94. The Back Door Key obtained from this sequence allows you to progress deeper into CEG HQ and eventually reach the South Brae area.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

  1. Enter Clara Woods: Follow the path until you reach the ranger station. Pick up the map and notice.
  2. CRTV Signal 1: Near the fallen tree. Tune to 92.1 to hear a recording. Unlocks a clue.
  3. Find the Compressor: In the ranger station garage. Requires Boltcutters (from Locker 17).
  4. Locker 17: Located in South Brae. Code 575. Contains Mechanical Part & Boltcutters.
  5. Assemble Device: Combine Compressor, Mechanical Part, and Power Cell (found in a nearby shed).
  6. Enter CEG HQ: Use the Device to open the sealed door.
  7. Tape Recorder Puzzle: Play tapes in order: Yesterday (192), Tomorrow (125), Today (??). The “Do Not Play” tape reveals the middle number: 129.
  8. Locker 94: Input 129 into Barcode. Get Ammonite Disk.
  9. Use Ammonite Disk: On the main computer. Reveals code 490.
  10. Locker 94 again: Input 490. Get Back Door Key.
  11. Back Door: Leads to South Brae. Chapter ends.

Tips: Save before the Tape Recorder puzzle. If you fail, you can reload. The CRTV battery drains; find batteries in lockers. Use the Flare Gun to scare off enemies in dark areas. Keep your flashlight charged.
