Silent Hill: Townfall introduces several mechanics that differ significantly from previous entries in the series, and understanding them early will dramatically improve your survival chances. The most important system is the portable CRTV: regularly tune into different frequencies to uncover story fragments and puzzle clues, and use it to detect monsters through walls so you can plan your movements accordingly.

Your ending is determined by the balance between enemies killed and clues discovered. If you’re aiming for the Justice ending, avoid unnecessary fights and explore every area thoroughly. Lock doors whenever possible — monsters can pass through ordinary doors, making this a critical survival tactic. When an enemy spots you, immediately look for a wardrobe or locker to hide in; monsters cannot open hiding places and will eventually lose interest.

Before venturing far, find Empty IV Bags and IV Fluid, combine them in your inventory, and equip the filled bag — it allows Simon to revive once after taking a fatal hit. Finally, check your Clues section frequently; it contains only important documents relevant to your current objectives, so you won’t need to sift through every note you pick up.

Combat Tips: If you must fight, aim for headshots with the pistol to conserve ammo. Melee weapons degrade with use, so carry a backup. The shotgun is powerful but slow; use it only against groups or large enemies. Always check your surroundings for throwable objects to distract enemies.

Exploration Tips: The CRTV’s signal strength indicator can help you locate hidden items and interactables. If the signal is strong, there’s something nearby. Use the map to mark points of interest. Backtracking is common, so remember locked doors and blocked paths.

Resource Management: Health drinks and ammo are scarce. Don’t waste healing items on minor injuries; wait until your health is critical. Save frequently at save points, as death sends you back to the last save. The game autosaves at key moments, but manual saves are safer.

Difficulty Settings: The game offers Easy, Normal, and Hard. Easy mode gives more resources and less enemy damage. Hard mode is for veterans. You can change difficulty at any time, but achievements may be locked.

Endings Guide: There are four endings: Justice, Mercy, Vengeance, and Secret. Justice requires killing few enemies and finding many clues. Mercy requires sparing specific bosses. Vengeance requires killing many enemies. Secret requires finding all hidden items. Choose your playstyle accordingly.
